Batik Village is here, in Laweyan, Solo
Solo : Sr. Lisana Widi is busy in this couple weeks. She visit places in Solo in her task to support the Batik Crafting. Along with Br. Zahron, Marketing Support Officer, and Br. Luthfi, Zakat Consultant, they teamed up to met Mrs. Dewi (45), Batik Crafter, at the Center of Batik in Laweyan Village, Solo.
“I’m deeply concern with the way of this neighbourhood thought about their job, they simply think that if I do this, how much is my share. They tend to look for short term benefit and ignore long term benefit.” said Mrs. Dewi to Sr. Lisana. “This community need more vocational training, to encourage them run their own business, so that they take more responsible to their life.”
“I’m willing to support the training, and to provide access to the market.” eager Mrs. Dewi when discuss about the support for the vocational training and agrees to join partnership with Rumah Zakat as instructor in Batik Class for the Mothers of scholarship participants in Solo City.
